About the Role
Saab, Inc.'s Surveillance U.S. Division is seeking an Electrical Engineering Functional Manager to lead and develop a team of Electrical Engineers. This role will partner with functional leaders across multiple engineering disciplines and program management to drive successful program execution and deliver high-quality products within established cost and schedule objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Electrical Engineering team to achieve technical, program, cost, schedule, and business objectives.
- Develop workforce plans and manage staffing resource allocation, and personnel assignments to meet current and future business needs.
- Establish performance objectives aligned with business priorities and oversee performance management, career development, coaching, and mentorship.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring effective execution, innovative solutions, and development of critical engineering capabilities.
- Establish and manage technical, cost, and schedule objectives, ensuring execution aligns with program commitments and budgets.
- Lead cost estimating and planning activities for proposals, IR&D, capital, and overhead; ensure accurate and well-documented BOEs and schedules.
- Manage Electrical Engineering budgets, including overhead, capital investments, software, and engineering tools.
- Develop department strategies, training plans, and professional development opportunities to maintain and advance technical competencies.
- Contribute to technology roadmaps and drive innovation, risk mitigation, process improvements, and continuous technical advancement.
- Champion quality and operational excellence by maintaining QMS processes, establishing performance metrics, and ensuring adherence to standards and continuous improvement objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 10+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated expertise and recognized technical leadership in Electrical Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Altium or equivalent ECAD tool.
- Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Ability to provide strategic direction for projects and programs in area of expertise.
- Ability to lead through ambiguity, anticipating change, mitigating risk, and making sound high impact decisions.
- Experience shaping organizational direction through technical leadership, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across disciplines effectively.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% in support of program and business efforts.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.

- Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
