About the Role

This role owns the people function at Button end to end, including talent acquisition, the employee lifecycle, compliance, systems, compensation structure, and the day-to-day employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own onboarding, performance cycles, promotions, and offboarding.
  • Act as the system owner for the company’s HRIS, ATS, and PEO platforms.
  • Manage benefits administration, open enrollment, and leave, resolving employee questions and issues.
  • Oversee multi-state US employment compliance.
  • Maintain the company’s employee handbook and associated policies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee relations matters.
  • Train and coach managers on performance cycles and ongoing management.
  • Manage and develop Button’s talent acquisition function, owning hiring outcomes (time to fill, quality of hire, candidate experience).
  • Own the hiring process, including structured interviews, scorecards, and ensuring offer consistency.
  • Hold offer and leveling decisions in partnership with Finance and hiring managers.
  • Identify resource needs for the function and partner with leadership to recruit talent.
  • Own employee leveling and salary bands.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to maintain headcount plans and compensation projections for leadership decision-making.
  • Translate attrition, engagement, and hiring data into actionable recommendations.
  • Own the company rhythm, including traditions, events, systems, and internal communication for a distributed team.
  • Organize company events, such as offsites and coworking weeks.
  • Administer the company’s engagement survey and implement visible changes based on feedback.

  • Experience as a system owner for an HRIS and payroll platform (including implementation or migration)
  • Direct employee relations experience
  • Experience partnering with Finance on headcount planning and compensation budgets
  • Experience building processes and operating in a lean, rapidly changing, or unstructured environment

Education Level

  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR (Bonus)

Salary/Compensations

  • $165,000 - $195,000
