About the Role
Gilead Sciences Japan is seeking a professional to work closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) field, including rheumatologists and orthopedic specialists. This full-time role in the Inflammation Business Unit reports to the RA Marketing Department Head. The individual will develop Clinical Questions (CQs), conduct science-driven discussions with KOLs, and provide feedback to the marketing franchise for product strategy and tactical plan execution. This role is key in planning and executing D2D events as part of an omni-channel strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing event vendors.
Responsibilities
- Gives feedback to RA marketing franchise members on scientific insights from discussions with rheumatologists and orthopedic specialists to develop strategy/tactics and run PDCA cycle.
- Develops CQ aligned with RA strategy and executes communication plans with HCPs to generate insights, synthesizing and prioritizing recommendations for the RA marketing franchise to optimize asset value and promote proper use.
- Plans and executes D2D events (e.g., seminars, lectures, Meet the Experts) involving interactive and scientific discussions among RA specialists and advisory board meetings.
- Discusses scientific/educational content with chairs/speakers to develop scientifically robust, strategically aligned, and compliant educational content.
- Suggests and executes tactical plans in line with strategic POA.
- Participates proactively in POA tactical planning by connecting current state, desired state, gaps, causal factors, priority issues, CQs, strategic actions, and measurable outcomes.
- Works closely with IBU members and cross-functional members, ensuring field insights are synthesized, prioritized, and translated into clear recommendations and follow-up actions.
- Collaborates closely with co-promotion partners, including marketing and Immunology specialists (IMSPs).
- Educates HCPs on the latest business conduct and guidelines.
- Ensures consistency of described tasks with GSJ’s business compliance.
- As an OLL, does not ask for product prescription or account opening.
- Spends more than 50% of weekly work time on field-based activities.
Requirements
- Possesses 3+ years of experience as MR/MSL/Area Marketing in pharmaceutical/biotech industries.
- Has strong ambition to foster Jyseleca® as the best product amongst advanced treatments for patients living with inflammatory diseases.
- Has strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on time management, follow-through, and issue resolution abilities.
- Has excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and motivate people without direct authority.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking skills with the ability to anticipate issues and their impact on related areas.
- Can explain Jyseleca’s product features from scientific points of view OR has strong ambition to describe these scientific values based upon public information on the Internet.
- Possesses MR/MSL/Marketing experience in Immunology/Inflammation areas.
- Has good experience with interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals from a variety of departments.
