About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst, Statutory Reporting role is responsible for NAIC related regulatory reporting and Manulife/John Hancock’s compliance with NAIC regulations for insurers. This role focuses on a critical accounting basis for all US-based insurance companies to ensure adherence to NAIC’s accounting and reporting mandates.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reporting statements for the NAIC, downstream business users, and varied internal business partners.
  • Liaise with internal customers including Risk Based Capital analysts, US Finance, US Tax, and varied business units.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to field questions, provide insights, and adhere to Model Audit Rule requirements.
  • Ensure Securities Valuation Office of the NAIC requirements are met for filing new investment agreements and comply with the monthly Asset Valuation process.
  • Determine NAIC report part codes for newly acquired securities.
  • Coordinate with front and middle offices to acquire the details of the securities.
  • Ensure adherence to the NAIC Accounting Practices and Procedures Manual requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in investment accounting with knowledge of various financial products.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel focused) and Power BI.
  • University or advanced degree.
