About the Role
You will be the risk voice in customer conversations, owning the risk relationship for a portfolio of customers. This includes managing reporting, thresholds, remediation, and expected loss and guarantee tier pricing. You will influence outcomes through collaboration with internal teams and directly with customers.
Responsibilities
- Run the risk cadence for customers: regular reporting, risk content in quarterly business reviews, and risk packs.
- Explain approval rates and thresholds, and deliver threshold and guarantee tier changes with rationale.
- Advise customers on controls and data to improve Trustly's approval rates.
- Bring the case for threshold or tier changes back into Trustly.
- Run discovery and scoping with customers and deal teams for new deals.
- Set indicative risk appetite, expected loss rates into pricing, guarantee tier recommendations, and pre-authorization or data requirements.
- Quantify the trade-off for the customer: approval rate, expected loss, and guarantee fee.
- Structure risk terms on non-standard deals.
- Design pilots and phased launches for new customers or verticals.
- Review deals post-launch, comparing actual performance against pricing.
- Carry the customer view into the risk engine and product roadmap.
- Own risk content in requests for proposals, risk questionnaires, and customer due diligence reviews.
- Enable commercial and customer success teams on risk capabilities and when risk involvement is needed.
- Represent Trustly risk with customers and at industry events.
Requirements
- 8+ years in payments risk, merchant underwriting, or risk consulting, including customer-facing experience.
- Customer-facing risk experience at a payments company, or pre-sales and solutions consulting at a risk or decisioning vendor, with direct executive-level exposure.

- Experience explaining loss and return performance to customers and agreeing remediation plans.
