About the Role
We are seeking a strong Account Manager to support our Complex Risk Unit Commercial accounts in Toronto. This role requires responsiveness, strong time management skills, and good knowledge of property and casualty experience, working closely with the Assistant Vice President of the Complex Risks Unit.
Responsibilities
- Act as a primary client-facing point of contact in a placement insurance broker role for an assigned book.
- Maintain key client and insurer relationships.
- Meet existing client needs, including quotes, premium adjustments, endorsements, renewals, and claims.
- Prepare and monitor insurance submissions, proposals, and summaries of insurance with support from an account assistant for processing binders, certificates, and billings.
- Negotiate with insurers to best meet client needs, remarketing where necessary.
- Collect premiums from clients within HUB standards.
Requirements
- RIBO (Registered Insurance Broker of Ontario) license required.
- Typically, 5+ years of commercial insurance experience.
- Experience in market negotiations on commercial policies is an asset.
- Strong aptitude to learn new risks and keep up to date with emerging trends.
- Results-oriented and passionate with strong accountability and client management skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills.
- A solid team player with independence of thought.
- Proactive client-focused approach with effective negotiation and follow-up skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (formulas and pivot tables), PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with Applied EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems.
