About the Role
Pocket FM is seeking an Audio Producer for its Japan team to ensure high-quality audio for Japanese content. This role involves reviewing AI-generated audio, identifying and coordinating corrections, and producing polished episodes through patching and quality control. The Audio Producer will collaborate with Voice-Over Artists, partners, and cross-functional teams, and support talent sourcing and selection.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control on AI-generated audio, checking pronunciation, pacing, emotional delivery, and technical aspects.
- Identify audio errors and provide clear correction notes for Voice-Over Artists and production partners.
- Perform audio patching to integrate corrected dialogue and re-recorded segments into episodes.
- Ensure consistent tone, pacing, ambience, and technical quality in patched audio.
- Source, audition, evaluate, and recommend Voice-Over Artists.
- Partner with talent agencies and freelance voice talent for casting and production.
- Coordinate recording revisions and pickups with Voice-Over Artists.
- Maintain audio quality standards, QA processes, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Content, Localization, Product, and Production teams to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Track recurring quality issues and recommend process improvements.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience in audio production, post-production, or quality assurance in media, entertainment, gaming, or related industries.
- Experience reviewing spoken audio for pronunciation, performance quality, pacing, and technical accuracy.
- Proficiency with professional audio editing software and audio patching workflows.
- Experience working with Voice-Over Artists, including casting, auditions, talent selection, or recording coordination.
- Strong understanding of audio production workflows, recording processes, and QA best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail for identifying subtle performance and technical issues.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple productions.
- Native or near-native Japanese language proficiency with excellent listening skills and cultural awareness.
- Experience in audio entertainment, gaming, animation, dubbing, podcasts, streaming, or creator platforms is highly preferred.
- Passion for storytelling and creating exceptional audio experiences.
