About the Role
L3Harris is seeking Systems Integration & Test engineers in Rochester NY to work on a dynamic team to develop EO/IR solutions. The role involves SI&T Engineering responsibilities including the development, integration & test of electro-optic systems for airborne and ground surveillance. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, and program management to design, develop & build high-performance systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop system integration concepts & test plan approach
- Ensure system requirements are met and evaluate performance measures
- Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses
- Design, develop, and release custom test equipment (HW and SW)
- Coordinate with Operations for production STE/ATE requirements, automation, and user interface
- Develop custom test equipment procedures and instructions
- Manage upgrades to STE for obsolescence / enhancements
- Maintain library of preferred test equipment / components and common architecture standards
- Design Qualification program: plans, procedures, and test equipment
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Skills
- MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering)
- DOORS, Jama, and Cameo experience
- Software development for test applications (C/C++, Python, LabView, etc.)
- System modeling using Matlab/Simulink
- Video transport and encoding (H.264, MISB and SMPte standards)
- Understanding of defense products for the environments and platforms L3Harris supports
- Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities

Work Type
- 9/80 schedule: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off
