About the Role

The Assistant Resident Manager plays a crucial role in providing clinical and rehabilitative services to residents in a supportive housing environment. This position assists with operational, personnel, and financial responsibilities, ensuring the program meets regulatory requirements and maintains a safe, supportive atmosphere. The role involves direct resident support, crisis management, and collaboration with various departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual counseling, supportive services, and crisis intervention to an assigned caseload of residents.
  • Be available for 24-hour crisis management and respond to resident and building-related issues.
  • Ensure the delivery and documentation of client services, including progress notes, service/support plans, assessments, and consents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
  • Oversee medication monitoring and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Assist with personnel activities, including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, staff meetings, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all staff receive required training, including First Aid/CPR, NARCAN, incident reporting, and cultural competency.
  • Support fiscal responsibilities, including inventory management, petty cash, resident funds, and payment plans.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Department to maintain a safe and well-maintained building.
  • Address repair and maintenance needs in apartments and common areas.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with program requirements related to admissions, discharges, incident reporting, apartment inspections, and fire drills.
  • Attend internal agency meetings and required trainings.
  • Assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Residence Manager, under the supervision of the Area Director or Field Coordinator.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or high school diploma with at least five years of experience working in a supportive residential program and/or with individuals who have serious mental illness and a history of homelessness.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of the AWARDS system preferred.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees at all levels, clients, and community contacts.
