About the Role
Kobalt is seeking a Product Designer to shape the future of its AI-native compliance operating system for financial institutions. This role involves defining the next generation of Kobalt's product and brand, establishing a robust design system, and creating intuitive user experiences for complex workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design complex product workflows from first principles, collaborating with engineering from concept to launch.
- Establish the design system for Kobalt’s platform, including reusable components and patterns.
- Own Kobalt’s website end-to-end, including visual direction, information architecture, implementation, and iteration.
- Evolve Kobalt’s visual identity across the product and website.
- Understand user workflows and requirements through customer interaction and team collaboration, translating them into simple interfaces.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing and shipping software products, preferably complex B2B or enterprise applications.
- Exceptional systems thinking, including reasoning about information architecture, interaction patterns, states, and reusable primitives.
- A strong portfolio showcasing visual craft and thoughtful interaction design.
- Experience building or significantly contributing to a design system for a growing product.
- Comfortable working directly in code and utilizing modern AI-assisted development tools for web experiences.
