About the Role

This field-based position supports the Catastrophe (CAT) team, requiring up to 50% travel to assist with catastrophe response and field operations. The role involves building relationships and overseeing third-party vendors to ensure the accuracy and quality of their products, focusing on USAA's mission and member experience.

Responsibilities

On-boarding, oversight, maintaining partnerships, and coaching third-party vendors.
Evaluating vendor work product for quality, accuracy, and contract adherence.
Collaborating with 3PRM on vendor footprint to balance member needs and operational resources.
Resolving complaints and payment discrepancies within the vendor MOI.
Providing direction on borderline Total Loss situations.
Making decisions and providing insights on physical damage losses within granted authority.
Acquiring and applying advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts, and internal processes.
Supporting workload surges and Catastrophe Operations.
Assisting with managing output/throughput and USAA adherence guidelines for Auto Physical Damage processes.
Ensuring risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
4 years auto physical damage estimating experience.
Currently possess or acquire and maintain I-CAR Platinum Pro-Level 3 certification within 12 months of hire.
Ability to prioritize, solve problems, and effectively communicate next steps and path to resolution.
Effective communication through multiple channels, including digital tools.
Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and designated number of attempts.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
May require the ability to operate a company vehicle.
May require the ability to reach, handle, squat, bend, climb, and kneel to complete inspections.
May require the ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
May be exposed to working in body shop and/or salvage yard environments up to 25% of the time.
May be required to meet all USAA safe driving requirements, including MVR verification and possession of a valid driver's license.

Skills

Ability to travel at least 50% throughout the year.
Currently reside in the San Antonio or Austin, TX area.
5+ years of complex auto physical damage estimating.
Experience with STARS or other automotive Direct Repair Programs (DRP).
Collision body shop experience.
Proficiency with CCC vehicle damage estimating system.
Supervisory experience over large repair shop networks.
Proven ability to multi-task and triage claims in a high-volume environment.
I-CAR Platinum certification.
P&C insurance adjuster license.
US military experience gained through military service or gained as a military spouse / domestic partner.
