About the Role
Regeneron is seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join the Therapeutic Proteins - Antibody Radioconjugates Technology team. This role involves conjugating antibodies with chelates and probes, and radiolabeling them to support preclinical imaging studies. You will generate and characterize radiolabeled and fluorescently-conjugated tracers, enabling quantitative in vivo imaging studies across various therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Performs bioconjugation of antibodies with bifunctional chelating agents and fluorescent probes following validated protocols.
- Characterizes antibody bioconjugates using SE-HPLC, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and UV/Vis spectroscopy.
- Radiolabels bioconjugated antibodies with Zr-89, Cu-64, or other radionuclide isotopes; purifies radiolabeled products for same-day use in time-critical imaging studies.
- Runs quality control testing using radio-HPLC, radio-iTLC, and gamma counting to verify tracer quality before release.
- Maintains mammalian cell culture lines and performs cell-based assays to validate tracer binding and function.
- Coordinates tracer preparation timelines with imaging scientists and project teams across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Maintains detailed electronic laboratory notebooks and radiation safety records in compliance with regulations.
- Maintains instruments, troubleshoots instrumental/experimental problems, and orders/maintains supplies.
Requirements
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Biology, or a related field with 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
- Comfort working with radioactive materials and willingness to complete radiation safety training.
- Hands-on experience with protein chemistry and bioconjugation techniques, or strong foundational knowledge with willingness to learn.
- Experience with chromatographic techniques (HPLC, FPLC, or column chromatography) and mammalian cell culture.
- Proficiency with computers, data analysis software (Excel, Prism, or similar), and electronic laboratory notebook systems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
