About the Role
TO Live's Patron and Events Services department is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes, prepare salads, sandwiches, and assorted platters, and follow recipes. This hourly, unionized position reports to the Executive Chef and involves working independently or with a team of up to 25 other cooks.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality dishes
- Preparing salads, sandwiches and assorted platters
- Being able to follow recipes
- Perform light-duty cleaning in the kitchen area including washing dishes
- Clear and dispose of garbage in designated areas
- Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Working off site on occasion
Requirements
- 1-3 years experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment preferred
- Good knife handling and cutting techniques
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekdays, weekday evenings and weekends
- Successful candidates will be required to join IATSE Local B-173
