About the Role
EDC helps Canadian businesses succeed abroad by providing them with the financial tools and expertise needed to explore new markets and reduce risks, with the goal of building a better Canada and a better world through trade.
Responsibilities
- Translate business strategy and customer needs into a clear product vision, roadmap, and prioritized product backlog.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders in the insurance value chain and technology partners to enhance customer and employee experience while delivering reliable, compliant, and sustainable solutions.
- Develop and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and team objectives, ensuring alignment with credit insurance team priorities and EDC's strategy.
- Act as a spokesperson for customer and business needs, ensuring product decisions maximize value and align with strategic objectives.
- Drive customer outcomes by translating business priorities, user feedback, and operational needs into actionable direction for product development.
- Manage the product backlog and continuously prioritize it based on customer value, business outcomes, risk reduction, regulatory obligations, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
- Partner with customers, subject matter experts, and technology teams to confirm problems, define viable solutions, and incorporate user feedback.
- Track product performance, benefits, and key outcomes, leveraging data and analytics to recommend adjustments to priorities and roadmap.
- Identify and manage dependencies, operational risks, technical debt, and vendor issues in collaboration with related product teams and support functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, finance, insurance, information technology, or a related discipline.
- Five to seven years of experience as a Product Owner, Team Lead, Business Analyst, or in a similar role.
- Proven experience with complex, large-scale, multi-year technology transformations.
- Ability to translate strategy and business needs into measurable outcomes, roadmap, and prioritized product backlog.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and influencing skills, with the confidence to resolve competing priorities and make value-based trade-offs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex business and technology issues to diverse audiences.
- Customer-centricity, analytical mindset, and accountability; ability to work effectively amidst ambiguity and shifting priorities.

- Product Owner or Agile certification (e.g., CSPO/PSPO) or equivalent training
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or comparable product and delivery management tools
- Proficiency in both official languages
