About the Role

Ensures the department is running in a safe, productive manner, focusing on production, quality, and people. Identifies, investigates, and solves problems, working closely with employees and reporting issues to management.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures department runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Assists operators in production setup and start-up.
  • Ensures quality control checks are performed by employees.
  • Verifies proper recipes are used for production.
  • Completes and maintains appropriate paperwork and reports.
  • Verifies operator logs each hour with signature.
  • Verifies moisture checks are performed on all lots.
  • Tours the entire room on a half-hour basis.
  • Ensures sufficient manpower is scheduled for the next day's activities and makes adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensures sufficient supplies (salt, stabilizer, Vitamin A, etc.) are available for the day.
  • Maintains employee records, including attendance and write-ups.
  • Maintains open communication with all employees in the ricotta department.
  • Identifies, investigates, and works to solve any problems that arise in the department.
  • Ensures all department employees adhere to all GMP and QC policies.

Requirements

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to perform a multitude of tasks.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associate degree in business administration or dairy science preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • 3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience preferred.
