About the Role

This role involves underwriting risk throughout the policy lifecycle for renewals and new business within limited authority, partnering with Underwriters to facilitate informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Performs underwriting analysis and documentation to determine risk acceptability according to company guidelines for renewals and new business within assigned Letter of Underwriting Authority.
- Handles endorsement requests within delegated authority and refers those outside authority to an underwriter with a recommended action.
- Manages assigned renewal book within assigned authority, triaging applications and formulating next steps for underwriters on accounts outside authority.
- Serves as a liaison within the branch or across CNA to resolve issues related to billing, collections, risk control, and underwriting guidance.
- Documents assigned files for completeness, compliance, and quality, including correspondence, proposals, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Executes advanced pricing strategies using business unit pricing tools in compliance with regulatory and CNA underwriting strategies.
- Completes quote proposals and negotiates with external partners within assigned authority.
- Acts as the first-line contact for producers/customers on account matters and identifies opportunities for upselling or account rounding.
- Assists in marketing products and services through external partners and conducts field visits.
- Serves as an expert on systems and workflows, acting as a resource for training, problem-solving, and coaching.
- Stays current on line of business strategy, state/territory issues, regulations, and trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically a minimum of three years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to interact with a wide-variety of people on a daily basis in person, via telephone and email.

- Knowledge of Property and Casualty underwriting, insurance products, policy processing procedures, and documentation.
