About the Role
This Material Handler I role in the Storage Control department involves receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment. You will prepare documentation, maintain quality metrics, and operate material handling equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring scientists have the products they need for research and development.
Responsibilities
- Receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
- Preparing and filing routine documentation.
- Maintaining quality metrics.
- Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, Forklift etc).
- Working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer.
Requirements
- No previous work experience required.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively.
- Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds.

- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.
- Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds.
- May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion.
Skills
- Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field (Preferred)
- Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers) (Preferred)

Salary/Compensations
- $12.56–$18.84 per hour
- Eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results
