About the Role
Server Assistants play a key support role in the guest experience by maintaining a clean, organized dining environment and assisting Servers in delivering seamless service. They ensure all tables are properly set and that food and beverage service is executed to standard.
Responsibilities
- Answer questions about food, beverages, wine and other restaurant functions and services when necessary
- Assist with food running, ensuring that plates arrive to the proper guest
- Monitor the cleanliness of section and ensure all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter
- Communicate with Servers and Hosts to maximize seating
- Practice a high level of floor awareness and clear/clean as required
- Ensure that condiments are pre-portioned and the fridges are stocked with milk, cream, butter etc.
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards
- Follow all food safety standards and systems
- Empty garbage, change linen bags and dispose of garbage and recycling
- Communicate to all Servers any comments or information provided by guests to ensure a positive, memorable experience
- Other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
- Smart Serve Certification
- Exceptional attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Capable of taking direction, prioritizing tasks, and working efficiently
- Clear and professional oral communication skills
- Solid knowledge of food and beverage offerings, with a willingness to learn
- Demonstrates a consistent sense of professional urgency and momentum in service delivery
- Flexible availability evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Daytime and evenings availabilities required
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
