About the Role
Saronic is seeking a Machine Shop Helper to support our machinists and fabrication team in building autonomous surface vessels. This role involves prepping materials, staging tooling, deburring parts, operating basic equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately read tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment.
- Stack finished product in accordance with factory specifications.
- Assist with loading and unloading of machines.
- Secure raw materials.
- Hand deburr fabricated metal components.
- Operate saws and raw material processing equipment.
- Clean machinery.
- Expedite completed parts.
- Participate in crew meetings, reduce waste, actively participate in team problem-solving processes, and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure correct bundle/unit counts and report final counts to supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to stand continuously and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
- Must be willing to work alternate shifts, weekends, and daily overtime as required.
- Requires "U.S. Person" status for access to export-controlled information or items.
