About the Role
The Corporate Librarian supports the NYPA corporate and engineering library, which is predominantly digital. This role involves administering, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting integrations among library systems, including EOS/Sirsi Dynix, Libby, electronic resource platforms, and publication authentication technologies. The librarian will also set up and maintain group accounts for services like Accuris and Dun & Bradstreet.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to and work closely with users to ensure their needs and requirements are met.
- Retrieve historical and reference materials for users.
- Perform tasks including setting up user accounts, providing access to news and information sources, and securing copyrighted information.
- Help end users with plug-ins and other software to enable access to electronic information by managing digital rights.
- Create and update online data records.
- Develop, maintain, and document cataloging procedures.
- Maintain, receive, verify, and prepare documents for electronic input and retrieval from various servers.
- Maintain the library in optimal condition, including shelving and retrieving hard copy information, checking out items, and following up on overdue items.
- Administer, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support integration among library systems.
- Set up and maintain group accounts (e.g., Accuris, Dun & Bradstreet, NY Times Pass/newspapers).
- Collaborate with IT staff, Operations/Engineers, Procurement staff, and external vendors to evaluate, implement, enhance, and support library technologies, services, and workflows.
- Work with vendor representatives to set up training for end users.
- Collect, analyze, and report usage data to support assessment, planning, and decision-making.
- Assist with acquisitions and evaluate digital products to replace hard copy resources.
- Maintain the Library’s website and related web services in collaboration with users and vendors.
- Provide one-on-one training, consultation, and basic support to Library users in White Plains and Albany.
- Assist users with setting up accounts and resetting log-ins.
- Perform reference interviews to help users locate information.
Requirements
- Ability to maintain, reference, and research cataloging and indexing areas for technical data.
- Working knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of library science.
- Ability to interact with personnel to supply data through research of reports, periodicals, and internet and intranet systems.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of informational resources.
- Ability to critically evaluate and filter information.
- Strong familiarity with workplace productivity software.

Salary/Compensations
- $34.87 - $43.59 per hour
