About the Role
The Slot Supervisor is responsible for supervising Slot Attendants and ensuring high levels of customer service. This role also involves stepping into the Slot Shift Manager position when needed, overseeing all slot operations during an assigned shift, all within the guidelines of Seneca Gaming Corporation policies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise personnel and ensure efficient facility operations during assigned shifts.
- Monitor employee activities and take appropriate actions for efficient operations.
- Observe Slot machine department areas for irregularities and ensure machines function properly and are played legitimately.
- Assign personnel, schedule breaks, and monitor coverage for efficient customer service.
- Assist in monitoring machine payouts to ensure correct amounts are paid to customers.
- Act as signatory on jackpots per the Internal Control Manual.
- Enforce policies and procedures regarding the security of monies, parts, equipment, and documentation.
- Utilize effective communication for consistent, accurate, and timely information across shifts.
- Ensure professional behavior and appearance comply with Slot Department and Seneca Gaming Corporation standards.
- Maintain current understanding of information security policies, including the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a pleasant, professional demeanor.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Observe and analyze the integrity of play and track guest and employee activity.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the overall function and performance of the assigned shift.
- Supervise Slot Supervisors and Slot Attendants.
- Manage the operation of the Slot department during the assigned shift.
- Assist in formulating, developing, and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
- Train new employees to ensure they have the proper knowledge to perform their duties.
- Implement departmental and company procedures, including security policies.
- Ensure proper staffing levels for adequate floor coverage and service with minimum labor hours.
- Delegate assignments to ensure timely and efficient completion of shift functions.
- Track assigned tasks for proper completion.
- Ensure slot operations staff accurately complete necessary shift paperwork and investigate discrepancies.
- Perform payroll duties, including submitting timecards and maintaining attendance records.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all Seneca Gaming Corporation facilities, promotions, and events.
- Evaluate shift employees to ensure acceptable performance levels.
- Assist with recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, discipline, and terminations.
- Communicate regularly with employees about casino activities and events.
- Settle customer disputes that cannot be resolved by subordinates.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or two (2) years of casino experience and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Minimum two (2) years gaming/casino experience.
- Game performance experience desirable.
- Knowledge of casino rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
