About the Role
As a member of our interprofessional team, you will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, education and counseling to adult inpatients with swallowing and communication impairments within the subacute and acute stroke patient population. You will also support a variety of subacute and acute medicine, and rehab adult populations within Markham Stouffville Hospital and participate in ongoing program development and quality improvement activities.
Responsibilities

- Supporting a variety of subacute and acute medicine, and rehab adult populations within Markham Stouffville Hospital.
- Participating in ongoing program development and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
- BLS Certification is required
- Proficiency with videofluoroscopic swallow studies; MBSImP certification
- Recent experience with treatment/management of speech, language, and cognitive communication disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
