About the Role
This remote sales position focuses on increasing sales for the Code 3 product line within an assigned territory. Responsibilities include identifying new accounts, creating product packages, managing customer relationships, and staying informed about market trends and competition. The role requires deep product knowledge and acting as a product champion.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Code 3 product line professionally to drive sales growth and maintain a positive reputation.
- Engage directly with existing and potential customers to promote and sell Code 3 products and services.
- Achieve continuous sales growth and expected margins for the assigned territory.
- Represent the company at customer visits, trade shows, seminars, and meetings, traveling up to 75% as needed.
- Coordinate accurate processing of purchase orders with customer service and operations.
- Obtain and manage bids and special pricing, negotiating and securing appropriate approvals.
- Conduct ongoing training for distributor salespeople.
- Develop thorough knowledge of end-users and distribution channels within the territory.
- Oversee the 'test and evaluation' program with major accounts.
- Maintain current knowledge of product pricing, operation, and new product training.
- Continuously update the customer database.
- Utilize sales tools such as Salesforce, Starbridge, and Bidnet.
- Maintain a sales pipeline for territory opportunities.
- Complete a weekly running 4-week plan detailing opportunities and customer visits.
- Submit a weekly report on territory status, including successes, failures, and needs.
- Work from a home office or Code 3 office on non-travel days to ensure collaboration and accountability, or make local customer calls.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of related sales experience.
- Experience with wholesale distribution, key accounts, and manufacturers' rep agencies.
- Ability to build strong business relationships across diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining up-to-date customer contact and opportunity information.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
- Self-motivated to seek new sales opportunities and grow the sales territory with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Computer literacy with Windows and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to continually improve product knowledge and skillset.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel up to 75%.
