About the Role
Upscale Remodeling is seeking an experienced carpenter for their residential remodeling team. This role requires a hands-on individual with a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Projects include kitchens, bathrooms, additions, renovations, and custom carpentry. The ideal candidate possesses strong residential carpentry skills and seeks steady employment with a professional remodeling company that values craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Manage and execute assigned remodeling and construction projects, coordinating with subcontractors and working independently or under direction.
- Serve as the on-site liaison, keeping team members informed of project progress and client needs.
- Review project scope, details, site conditions, and client expectations.
- Delegate, assist with, and perform designated construction tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and subcontractors, assigning tasks with clear timelines.
- Enforce company and industry safety guidelines.
- Provide daily job log photos to BuilderTrend project management app/website.
- Address client questions and concerns promptly, aiming for a response within 24 hours.
- Maintain a smoke-free work environment.
- Lead by example, demonstrating honesty, humility, and a quality-minded approach.
- Collaborate with fellow Carpenters on multiple projects, prioritizing departmental needs and maintaining flexibility.
- Maintain and reinforce company standards of professionalism.
- Share knowledge and skills with team members.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
- Conduct yourself in a professional, positive, and courteous manner.
- Attend project-related meetings.
- Address and resolve production-related issues efficiently.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency.
- Plan jobs proactively to minimize material and shop runs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Maintain a safe, productive, and efficient work environment.
- Cultivate positive relationships with team members, clients, and vendors.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (5) years of carpentry experience with expertise in all phases of residential remodeling and construction.
- Proficient in rough carpentry, including framing, layout, and structural load-path understanding.
- Experienced in finish carpentry, including trim work and cabinetry installation.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with clients, team members, vendors, and contractors.
- Capable of following direction and providing leadership, supervision, and mentoring.
- Excellent listening and comprehension abilities.
- Proficiency in understanding construction drawings, scopes of work, specifications, contracts, and business correspondence.
- Willingness to adapt to and embrace new technology, apps, and software.
- Keen eye for quality and a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Valid NYS driver’s license required.
- Carpenters are expected to supply and maintain all standard hand and power tools.
- Must have a clean, reliable, pick-up truck or van.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and sitting.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 60 pounds.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to climb and work off ladders up to 30 feet, and work at heights up to 40 feet.
- Must be able to use a computer and see color.
- Ability to travel to job sites daily and transport tools and materials.
