About the Role
The Senior Accountant will take primary responsibility for month/quarter/year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis. This role will manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, expense reports, and outstanding receivables. The position also involves maintaining subledgers, managing prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities, and enhancing ERP reporting.
Responsibilities
- Own transactional accounting and assigned monthly and annual close activities
- Prepare payroll, accrual, prepaid, allocation and other journal entries
- Maintain prepaid, accrual, fixed-asset and other schedules
- Review client revenue and billing schedules to ensure invoices are issued completely, and that revenue is recognized according to ASC 606 policy
- Manage the vendor lifecycle from onboarding and W-9/banking setup through payment release, verifying proper authorization before funds are disbursed
- Reconcile bank, card and balance-sheet accounts; research and clear reconciling items promptly
- Review expenses and corporate cards as it relates to GL impact; prepare authorized AP runs
- Assist in building NetSuite reports for budget-to-actual and department review
- Support audit and tax requests; strengthen workflows, documentation and controls
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 3–4 years of experience
- 1–2 years of direct month-end close experience
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP required
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience optimizing AI productivity tools (e.g. Claude)
- Experience with process automation technologies to streamline workflows and drive efficiency
- Precise, organized and analytical collaborator with sound judgment and discretion
- CPA designation/path is a plus
- Background in public accounting or prior audit experience is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
- Highly collaborative and communicative, with the ability to clearly articulate information to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to interact positively with a range of personalities and work styles
- Ability to effectively support cross-functional team objectives
- Considerable flexibility in scheduling and the willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
- Unwavering commitment to professional discretion, maintaining strict confidentiality and integrity in all financial operations
