About the Role
New York Bus Sales is seeking a Warehouse Associate for our Syracuse, NY location. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and efficiency, supporting both shipping and receiving functions to ensure timely delivery of parts to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Receive and check incoming merchandise against purchase orders for discrepancies and damage.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies with vendors.
- Label all received parts with the company part number.
- Distribute received items to the correct storage location or shipping/service bench.
- Pull, bill, and ship internal inventory transfers.
- Allocate warranty, cores, and new merchandise returns to proper staging areas.
- Pick and stage sales orders for shipping or customer pickup.
- Determine optimal delivery methods for customer needs.
- Process payments for sales orders.
- Dispatch deliveries with the parts driver.
- Safely operate material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Organize and relocate inventory, maintaining accurate bin locations.
- Conduct inventory counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
- Follow all safety methods and perform work safely.
- Report inventory discrepancies for investigation and correction.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Follow established company policies and department procedures.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of parts orders to customers.
- Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials.
Requirements
- Demonstrate good organizational skills.
- Properly use the company POS system.
- Make sound business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
- Possess sufficient speech and hearing for professional communication.
- Understand oral and written company and industry correspondence.
- Communicate effectively with customers and vendors via email or fax.
- Perform accurate numeric calculations.
- Have reliable transportation to various company facilities and customer locations.
- Be safety conscious and follow prescribed safety practices.
