About the Role

The Paralegal will serve as the primary point of contact for legal requests, managing the intake process from initiation to completion. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external counsel, focusing on contract administration and legal operations to ensure organized, efficient, and well-documented legal processes.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and revise contracts and related legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist attorneys in contract negotiations by preparing summaries, tracking changes, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • Maintain an organized contract management system, including filing, indexing, and monitoring key dates.
  • Conduct legal research on contract terms, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with departments to gather information and approvals for contract execution.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records of contract status, obligations, and compliance.
  • Support the legal team with ad hoc projects related to contract administration and compliance.
  • Facilitate clear interactions with attorneys, business partners, and vendors to resolve contract issues.
  • Manage intellectual property (IP) matters, including application preparation, filing, portfolio tracking, and renewals.
  • Manage insurance renewals, documentation, and related legal requirements.
  • Coordinate legal notices, claims, and litigation matters, including communication with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
  • Manage state business registrations, filings, and registered agent management.
  • Create and sustain relationships with outside counsel, legal partners, and vendors.
  • Maintain legal matter tracking and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate HECVATs and related legal, privacy, security, and compliance requests.
  • Support legal department budget management, including tracking outside counsel spend, invoices, and legal expenditures.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a paralegal with a focus on contracts or corporate law.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, legal terminology, and standard contract provisions.
  • Proficiency in using contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred.
  • Paralegal certification from an accredited organization such as NALA or NFPA preferred.
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm specializing in contracts.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management related to contracts.
  • Advanced skills in legal research tools and contract lifecycle management platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain contract databases and track critical deadlines.
