About the Role

Young Life is seeking individuals to join our team in the Lower Hudson Valley. This role involves direct ministry with high school students, leadership development, resource development, and administrative support. As a Ministry Staff member, you will play a crucial role in evangelism and discipleship, reflecting Young Life's Christian purpose.

Responsibilities

Develop a yearly personal growth plan that fosters a vibrant spiritual life.
Seek and maintain relationships and disciplines within a church community.
Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
Meet with volunteer leaders and area leadership regularly.
Recruit and train new leaders to build a leadership team.
Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
Attend and be involved with area leadership as assigned.
Raise financial support and maintain good donor care practices.
Communicate ministry updates and progress to personal donor partners.
Assist with camp fundraisers and attend occasional committee and adult functions.
Actively engage in all three levels of contact work.
Participate in leadership with a team to conduct a Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
Participate on a team to implement a summer and school-season camping strategy.
Potentially serve on summer staff or assigned staff at a Young Life property.
Adhere to all Young Life policies and procedures.
Learn to set yearly ministry and personal goals and objectives.
Assist in office administration when necessary and assigned.
Complete expense reports clearly and timely.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Post updates, event reminders, and photos on social media.
Write thank-you notes to donors and help with fundraiser events.
Update attendance records and contact lists.
Manage camp registration pages.
Help with team meetings.
Plan and lead YL club, contact work with high school kids.
Attend bi-monthly meetings for training in leadership and fundraising.

Requirements

Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord.
Must subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions.
Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from biblical standards.
Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life.
