About the Role
This role is responsible for attending trainings, driving under supervision, and actively learning during the CDL-B ELDT course. Trainees will attain a permit and license with endorsements to comply with DMV, FTA, and DOT regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Train to obtain CDL License with appropriate endorsements to comply with DMV/DOT Law.
- Learn all requirements for compliance to 19-A regulations.
- Practice safe driving techniques adhering to all driving rules and regulations.
- Attend bus driver meetings, agency trainings, and/or workshops as scheduled.
- Remove trash from vehicle on a daily basis and dispose of trash in garage receptacle, as well as clean the bus.
- Perform a "walk through" on vehicle immediately after all passengers disembark to establish neither passengers nor personal belongings remain on vehicle.
- Report any incidents or concerns which occur during transport according to agency policy and procedures.
- Maintain accurate reporting per department policy.
- Complete daily vehicle reports and grant reports on a daily basis using assigned equipment.
- Adhere to all procedures as stated in the Bus Drivers' Procedure Handbook.
- Determine that all passengers are seated and wearing seat belts prior to transporting.
