About the Role
Upstate Niagara Cooperative is seeking Operations Supervisors for the Overnight Shift. This role supports sustainable farming, strong communities, and the mission to deliver fresh, local dairy to families every day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist employees, including assigning and directing work, investigating incidents, and resolving conflict.
- Ensure a safe work environment and that personnel work safely.
- Train employees on job and safe work requirements.
- Utilize root cause analysis to identify preventative and corrective actions.
- Assist in developing and maintaining departmental work instructions and SOPs.
- Recommend measures to improve quality, efficiency, and equipment performance.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate inter-departmental activities.
- Maintain standards of health, safety, food, and security, including GMP, HACCP, and SQF.
- Interact effectively with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Material Handling, and Finance departments.
- Communicate and work with employees to resolve issues.
- Support all regulations, policies, procedures, work rules, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Act as a supervisor in the absence of another Operations Supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of direct manufacturing supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with high volume, automated processing equipment.
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment (preferred).
- Dairy and/or food processing knowledge (preferred).
- Must have weekend and holiday availability.
