About the Role
A Patient Representative/Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for providing patient-centered care and facilitating patient access to services in a pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient manner. This role involves communicating with a diverse population using well-developed interpersonal skills, managing the registration and appointment process, and serving as the primary point of contact for patients seeking care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily reception activities and ensure that all processes needed for patient services are initiated.
- Communicate effectively with team members and patients regarding all aspects of service.
- Handle telephone and mail contact with patients.
- Schedule appointments, collect fees, and explain services and charges.
- Distribute patient satisfaction cards, patient rights information, and other appropriate materials.
- Verify insurance information and set fees based on the sliding scale.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma/GED.
- 2-4 years of work-related experience.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written) is preferred.
