About the Role
Certified Nursing Assistants at Masonicare at Mystic assist residents with activities of daily living and personal care to maximize independence, freedom of choice and quality of life. The official title for this role is “Residential Care Assistant”.
Responsibilities
- Provides assistance with essential activities of daily living and personal care to residents based on age, needs and abilities.
- Provides assistance with instrumental activities of daily living, including light housekeeping, laundry, and mail delivery.
- Assists the resident with self-administration of medications through cueing only.
- Observes and reports changes in residents' physical condition and cognitive/emotional status.
- Conducts room checks, monitors for environmental safety hazards, and records incidents.
- Assists with dining, including escorting residents, set-up, clean-up, and serving meals.
- Participates in and supports the resident-centered activity program and completes required documentation.
- Acts as a resident advocate at all times.
- Follows agency policies concerning confidentiality.
- Uses tactful, diplomatic communication in sensitive situations and follows up on complaints or concerns.
- Acts as an ambassador to guests and visitors.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- No experience required.
- CNA Certification is a must.
