About the Role

Sodexo is seeking a Pastry Cook to join their dynamic team. This full-time role offers a great team environment, work/life balance, and the opportunity to cook healthy and appealing menus for consumers.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of all desserts required for food operations.
Prepare items from scratch such as breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, pastries and other desserts.
Set up, maintain, and tear down the workstation according to food operations guidelines.
Taste all products made to assess quality.
Notify the Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef of any product shortages and equipment maintenance issues.
Prepare and serve products in accordance with established standards for portion size and presentation.
Keep an accurate count of all food prepared.
Ensure that there is no discrepancy between the amount of food needed and the amount of food prepared.
Plan the production of all baked goods to maintain an inventory of fresh baked goods at all times.
Operate food preparation equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
Clean and maintain the workstation while demonstrating exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills.
Follow food hygiene guidelines when preparing food products and maintaining the work environment.

Requirements

Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role with a focus on high production.
Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
Strong time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience is required.
Red Seal may be requested.
Must hold a Food Handler certificate.
