About the Role
As an Engineer, you will assist in maintaining regulatory standards for our luxury hotel, attend to guest repair requests, and resolve maintenance issues. You will perform preventive maintenance on hotel rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and team members warmly and offer engineering assistance.
- Provide efficient and attentive resolution to guest and team member needs.
- Utilize POS Hilton OnQ / Quore and other technology systems efficiently.
- Promote hotel services, amenities, and offers, providing elevated service.
- Resolve guest challenges to exceed expectations in line with company goals.
- Respond to guest service requests according to company policy and record progress.
- Perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms, commercial kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, and mechanical equipment.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery regularly.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing and electrical issues in guest rooms.
- Program TVs and perform other engineering-related duties in guest rooms.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on all types of mechanical equipment.
- Assist in maintaining and recording supplies for the Engineering Department.
- Ensure projects are completed according to specifications and on time.
- Coordinate maintenance with Housekeeping, Restaurant, Kitchen, and Catering departments.
- Demonstrate product knowledge of Conrad Nashville, including hotel layouts and guestroom views.
- Deliver Forbes Service guidelines for excellence consistently.
- Participate in creating, implementing, and executing department culture to maintain SOP standards.
- Resolve guest concerns with empathy, offering apologies and demonstrating good listening skills.
- Uphold procedures for VIP guests, security protocols, and safety.
- Demonstrate consistent delivery of all SOP standards.
- Comply with all trained systems and procedures, including Air Handling, refrigeration, lighting, kitchen equipment, furniture, elevators, pool maintenance, and Fire Health & Life Safety Systems.
- Act as a key communicator to emergency services.
- Remain calm and alert during emergency situations.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available for on-call duties.
- Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience in engineering and maintenance at a comparable facility.
- Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Basic keyboard skills, knowledge of Word, Excel, and basic math.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours a day.
- Ability to perform grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual activity.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
- Maintain a neat, professional, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
- Flexibility to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
