About the Role
The Housekeeper performs routine and project-based housekeeping duties in assigned areas of Masonicare at Mystic, following instructions and standard procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receive instructions and assemble cleaning supplies and equipment for assigned tasks.
- Clean common areas and resident homes, including dusting, washing walls and windows, and mopping/vacuuming floors.
- Strip and remake unoccupied beds.
- Operate mechanical vacuums and use stepladders as needed.
- Detect and report defective equipment or safety concerns.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Maintain surveillance of housekeeping cart due to cleaning fluids.
- Follow safety and infection control procedures.
- Interact respectfully and reassuringly with residents, addressing complaints and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with residents, recognizing their age, cultural diversity, needs, abilities, and physical condition.
- Interact positively and effectively with staff as part of a team.
- Attend departmental meetings and inservice education programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to drive a vehicle and understand traffic regulations.
- Good safety driving record.
