About the Role
As a Project Engineer for Environmental and Permitting Management, you will play a key role in the successful implementation of complex industrial projects. You will combine technical expertise with legal knowledge, coordinate project activities, and ensure all permits are obtained on time and in compliance with regulations. Working closely with clients, authorities, and internal teams, you will lay the groundwork for sustainable, safe, and future-oriented projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead sub-projects in the area of permitting procedures
- Plan and manage project activities (deadlines, resources, budget)
- Define suitable metrics, identify risks, and develop alternative actions
- Prepare permit-relevant documents and statements (e.g., according to BImSchG)
- Communicate with colleagues, clients, and authorities at eye level
- Advise on building regulations, environmental protection, and occupational safety
- Participate in on-site appointments (meetings, documentation, research)
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, ideally in the permitting field
- Completed studies in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Environmental Law, Process Engineering, or similar
- Sound knowledge of relevant environmental legislation (BImSchG, IED, WHG)
- Structured, independent work style and enthusiasm for environmental protection
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Project is an advantage
- Strong communication skills – clear, transparent, and audience-appropriate
- Sense of responsibility as well as consulting and service orientation
- Very good German skills (C1 or native) and fluent English
