About the Role
ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Production Manager to oversee production lines at a supplier's facility, ensuring adherence to operational and quality standards, managing schedules and resources, and driving continuous improvement. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, requiring a strong presence on the production floor and transparent reporting to management.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a permanent physical presence on the production floor at the supplier’s sub-tier facility in Conklin, NY, to monitor processes and ensure adherence to operational and quality standards.
- Support supplier and sub-tier Project Managers to enforce schedule adherence and address deviations.
- Validate timelines considering realistic yield, machine downtime, and material availability.
- Flag workforce conflicts that may impact progress on all agreed activities.
- Ensure the production schedule is updated with the latest run-at-rate data.
- Follow up on action plans for capacity expansion and continuous improvement.
- Drive internal coordination and bridge communication gaps between teams.
- Create and maintain weekly operational dashboards to report performance metrics, deviations, and remediation status.
Requirements
- 5+ years in Production Management or Manufacturing Operations within high-volume or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong familiarity with electronic subassemblies, shop-floor management, and data automation.
- BSc/MSc in Engineering.
- Experience within the aerospace sector is a plus.
- Ability to work 100% full-time on-site at the supplier's facility immediately.
