About the Role
The Host / Hostess safely and efficiently provides excellent customer service with a smile, ensuring guests feel good about their dining experience and become loyal customers. This role involves proactively engaging with guests to understand and meet their needs.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, acknowledge them by name if possible, and thank them for choosing our restaurant.
- Manage guest flow by taking names, managing reservations, estimating wait times, and communicating delays or special requests courteously.
- Escort guests to tables, provide menus, and assist with seating arrangements for various party sizes and preferences.
- Answer phone calls and inquiries regarding reservations, availability, and dining options, assisting with booking and confirming reservations.
- Maintain an organized reservation system, record guest preferences, and communicate relevant information to staff.
- Coordinate with kitchen and service teams for timely seating and efficient table turnover while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Provide information about the restaurant, including menus, specials, promotions, and amenities, and answer questions about ingredients and meal preparation.
- Anticipate guest needs and preferences, providing proactive assistance and recommendations.
- Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and courteously, escalating unresolved issues to management.
- Collaborate with service and kitchen teams for smooth operations and guest satisfaction, assisting with bussing tables and refilling water glasses as needed.
Requirements
- Prior customer service experience is preferred.
- High school diploma and/or equivalent work experience preferred, but not required.
