About the Role
The Counselor is responsible for ensuring inmates receive education in the assigned curriculum and maintaining written documentation in case records. This role involves participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings and working flexible hours to meet organizational needs, potentially including evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring inmates are provided with education in the assigned curriculum approved by the Department of Correction
- Responsible for written documentation in case records
- Participating in a multi-disciplinary team meeting on a weekly basis or as directed
- Working the hours required to meet the business needs of the organization including the ability to work more than 40 hours in a work week which may include evening and weekend programming
Requirements
- BA/MA or 2 years equivalent experience in criminal justice, human services, education or closely related field required
- DOC experience and/or Alcohol/ Drug certification preferred
