About the Role
Global Gourmet Catering seeks a dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead high-volume catering and restaurant operations, focusing on exceptional culinary experiences, sustainability, local sourcing, and world-class service.
Responsibilities
- Drive operational excellence across all catering and restaurant functions
- Manage and develop a diverse team of culinary and service professionals
- Coordinate with event planners and clients for special events and catering functions
- Oversee food cost, labor cost, and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations
- Implement sustainable practices aligned with Global Gourmet's environmental commitments
- Manage multiple venues and off-site catering operations
- Coordinate with local vendors and maintain farm-to-table relationships
- Handle high-profile client relationships and VIP events
- Maintain quality control standards across all service points
- Develop and execute staff training programs
- Manage budgets and financial reporting
- Coordinate with marketing team for social media and promotional activities
Requirements
- 5+ years of catering or restaurant management experience
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven track record in high-volume catering operations
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in catering/restaurant POS systems and Microsoft Office
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Experience with sustainable restaurant practices
- Knowledge of Bay Area food scene and local vendors
- Multi-unit management experience
- Bilingual skills (Spanish/English preferred)
- HACCP Certification
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Work in various weather conditions for outdoor events
