About the Role
Amazon Leo is building a Low Earth Orbit satellite network to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. The Network Operations Center (NOC) team provides tier 1 support for software-defined network services, ensuring operational excellence for critical workloads supporting customer network performance and availability.
Responsibilities
- Respond to and escalate network-related incidents, diagnosing and troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and security issues.
- Support deployment and onboarding of network capabilities, assisting in monitoring, testing, and reporting on new network infrastructure.
- Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime.
- Build and enhance tools, develop best practices, and refine operational procedures to improve network operations.
- Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets, including on-call rotations during business hours and weekends.
- Lead and mentor other Network Support Engineers in network issue diagnosis and operating procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including network, software, and security engineers.
Requirements
- 6+ years of technical support experience.
- Experience with network engineering for large-scale networks, including diagnosing network impacting issues.
- Knowledge of internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent, or experience with networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, cURL or related) at an advanced level.
