About the Role

This position supports projects requiring certified payroll and prevailing wages, with a strong focus on government compliance, audits, and subcontractor understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Perform, compile, and complete documents for submission to various agencies.
  • Process certified payroll reports weekly and submit them.
  • Enter certified reports and compliance information into online portals.
  • Ensure company compliance with DOL and prevailing wage requirements.
  • Educate project personnel and employees on prevailing wage requirements.
  • Establish relationships and provide guidance to project managers, lead personnel, general contractors, and owner personnel.
  • Initiate and maintain new certified jobs in the ERP system.
  • Review contracts for compliance requirements.
  • Review certified payrolls on all prevailing wage/compliance reporting projects.
  • Track apprenticeship to journeymen ratios.
  • Communicate and follow up with subcontractors regarding reporting requirements.
  • Research and determine correct rates applicable to projects.
  • Create and maintain rate agreements for prevailing wage projects.
  • Assist with union audits.
  • Identify resources and education to stay current with union contracts.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and regulations.
  • Assist the payroll team with rate updates and corrections.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalent required.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Understanding of contracts with Davis-Bacon Act/prevailing wage/certified payroll/compliance requirements preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with field staff, office staff, managers, and outside vendors/customers.
  • Positive safety attitude and personal integrity are non-negotiable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
  • Advanced typing skills for data entry.
  • Experience with ADP and IFS is preferred.
  • Capable of maintaining important information confidential.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with a high capacity for multitasking.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to ensure follow-through.
  • Strong desire to actively contribute to a team environment.
