About the Role
Arbor is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Solutions Delivery team, focusing on designing, building, and supporting enterprise applications and integrations. This role will also explore and implement AI technologies in software development and application features. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on engineer who demonstrates ownership, collaboration, and initiative.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and support secure, reliable enterprise applications and integrations.
- Develop full-stack solutions using C#/.NET, SQL Server, and Angular, including APIs, services, data access components, and responsive user interfaces.
- Utilize AI tools to enhance software development speed and effectiveness across coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting, ensuring validation of AI-generated output.
- Identify practical applications of AI within Arbor's software and business processes.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clear designs, implementation plans, and functional software.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through design decisions, code reviews, and support for other engineers.
- Take ownership of initiatives, proactively identifying risks and dependencies, and driving projects from conception to production support.
- Incorporate security, authorization, auditing, testing, and monitoring into developed solutions.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, and engineers across the organization.
- Act as a senior member of an Agile/Scrum team, participating in planning, estimation, delivery, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on software development experience building and supporting production applications.
- Experience with AI development and a strong interest in leveraging AI to improve software delivery.
- Strong hands-on development experience with C#/.NET and SQL Server.
- Strong experience with Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, including responsive web applications.
- Experience building AI-enabled applications or integrations and a desire to grow in this area.
- Experience building Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or working with MCP tools and resources is preferred; ability to learn new technologies and integration standards quickly is essential if direct MCP experience is lacking.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools while applying sound engineering judgment and validating results.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, application integrations, and data access patterns.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, reusable components, and software engineering practices.
- Experience with cloud-hosted applications and services; Microsoft Azure experience is preferred.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, application monitoring, and Git.
- Ability to provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on and accountable for individual development work.
- Self-starter comfortable taking loosely defined goals, determining next steps, and driving work to completion.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
