About the Role
This role is a strategic technical leadership position focused on the architectural evolution of Xometry’s flagship enterprise partnership. You will re-architect Xometry’s core application services to live natively within our partner's digital ecosystem, shaping the technical direction of multiple products and establishing engineering patterns for AI integration. Your goal is to achieve zero-latency DFM feedback and one-click procurement within the partner's design environment.
Responsibilities
- Design high-performance solutions that extend beyond a single org, establishing organizational standards for embedding Xometry-AI into external PLM environments.
- Advance the architectural framework to ensure extensibility, scalability, and adherence to strict enterprise SLIs/SLOs.
- Lead the integration of production ML pipelines into the application layer for optimized model serving and real-time geometry analysis.
- Champion AI-assisted development practices, mentoring engineers on effective use of AI tools.
- Solve significant challenges regarding data gravity and security.
- Create formal networks between partner and Xometry engineering groups for new operational methods, focusing on data governance where part files remain within the partner's network.
- Establish strategic direction and lead execution of the core integration.
- Ensure the integration of DFM and IQE AI engines creates a distinct, defensible edge for the partnership.
- Facilitate technical discourse across the Xometry organization, leading to durable, well-documented decisions.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for senior leadership, guiding risk/reward conversations and championing cross-functional development.
- Define reliability and security standards for enterprise-grade deployments, ensuring seamless multi-tenant management.
Requirements
- 12+ years of professional software development experience, with a history of scaling complex platforms.
- Expert-level mastery of Python, AWS infrastructure, and modern frontend frameworks (React/NextJS) used for complex enterprise applications.
- Proven experience shaping the technical direction of multiple teams and establishing engineering patterns as organizational standards.
- Track record of securing endorsement for 6-12 month initiatives and driving them to successful production deployment.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and external partners on technical strategy and long-term technology investments.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
