About the Role
AHRC NYC is seeking a Part-Time Occupational Therapist for their Dickson-Goodman residence to evaluate physical functioning, provide training, and establish rehabilitation goals.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates occupational therapy needs and provides services as ordered.
- Evaluates, instructs, and monitors functional exercise programs for upper extremities.
- Provides and teaches the use of assistive/adaptive equipment for daily living.
- Evaluates and treats cognitive perceptual defects.
- Maintains records for each person treated, including evaluations, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
- Makes physician contact and provides written reports on findings and goals.
- Communicates with physicians regarding changes in service provision or unusual situations.
- Participates in interdisciplinary care planning.
- Re-evaluates persons every 3 months and completes progress reports.
- Consults with the health team to coordinate therapeutic programs.
- Completes all necessary documentation within seven days of service.
- Submits discharge summaries at completion of services.
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities.
- Conducts other related tasks as needed or required.
Requirements
- Current licensure in New York State as an Occupational Therapist.
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association in New York State.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Curriculum.
- Minimum of one year of Occupational Therapy experience in a health care setting.
- Demonstration of considerable knowledge of current standards, procedures, and techniques of Occupational Therapy.
- Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to seek and synthesize input from multiple stakeholders.

Salary/Compensations
- $70-75 per hour
