About the Role

Zinc is rapidly technologizing its services for candidates, recruiters, and customers. The Expansion Lead is a new, senior individual-contributor hire responsible for owning and executing a £30M+ expansion opportunity through cross-selling into existing accounts and geographic growth. This role will build and run the expansion motion, identify new opportunities within renewal conversations, and requires someone who has built a sales motion from scratch, is commercially sharp, hands-on, and comfortable with both strategy and closing deals.

Responsibilities

  • Own expansion revenue, directly managing cross-sell (new products into existing accounts) and geographic/subsidiary expansion (new markets within existing accounts).
  • Design and implement methods for tracking, building, and reporting on expansion pipeline, ensuring forecast reliability in partnership with Finance and RevOps.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated outreach hire who will manage prospecting volume, allowing focus on strategy and high-value conversations.
  • Partner with Marketing on lifecycle campaigns to scale outreach effectively while maintaining relationship-led conversations.

Requirements

  • Full-cycle sales experience, including strategy development and closing deals.
  • Data literacy and commercial numeracy, including reading benchmarking data, sizing opportunities, and building forecasting models.
  • Experience in pipeline and mechanism design, with the ability to track and report on pipeline, ideally with RevOps support.
  • Proven ability in cross-functional delivery, effectively collaborating with Marketing and outreach partners without direct authority.
  • Strong risk judgment for complex deals, with the ability to sequence expansion opportunities to protect wider account relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to build something from scratch and drive initiatives independently.
  • Capacity to motivate others and gain prioritization for new workstreams.
  • Ability to operate strategically and hands-on within the same week.
  • Skill in driving visibility for new initiatives.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and an evolving role structure.
