About the Role

Accurately process routine financial transactions for banking customers with an emphasis on personalized quality service. Contribute to the growth, profitability, and customer retention of the Branch by meeting sales and service goals and objectives. Assess customer needs and effectively sell appropriate banking products and services. Provide banking services ensuring the highest level of quality service is provided to current and prospective customers.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and professionally.
  • Utilize consultative selling and profiling techniques to assist new and existing customers in selecting appropriate products and services.
  • Balance and prove cash drawer and work daily to ensure minimum teller difference and controllable loss performance standards are achieved.
  • Attend to night deposit vault, ATM, ITM, and coin machine as needed.
  • Conduct daily outbound calling to customers and prospects to promote Bank, Wealth, and NEST products and services.
  • Meet and exceed annually all assigned sales goals for Bank products and referral goals for NEST and digital products.
  • Proactively sell all Bank products and services to deepen and preserve relationships based on customer need.
  • Identify sales opportunities for Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Wealth and Trust services, and other strategic sales goals.
  • Solicit new consumer loan applications, process applications, and close loans.
  • Receive and respond to customer inquiries concerning Bank services, interacting with internal departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform account and record maintenance duties.
  • Provide notary services if licensed.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash checks, and all other teller transactions in accordance with Bank’s policy.
  • Serve as Branch Supervisor if directed by management.
  • Assist with related branch office functions as directed by the Branch Manager.
  • Facilitate customer migration to the Bank's digital channels.
  • Remain current and apply an understanding of all Bank policies and procedures, including BSA, attending additional training classes as directed.
  • Participate in the Branch Incentive Program.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations governing the banking industry, employment and labor laws, agency guidelines, and organization policies.
  • Manage compliance requirements for the Retail Branch to ensure files are maintained in accordance with regulations.
  • Ensure all staff members meet compliance and disclosure requirements and are cross-trained in all areas.

Requirements

  • Excellent sales and service skills.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of opening new accounts (checking, savings, etc.).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Moderate typing skills.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment, including calculator.
  • Working knowledge of bank products, services, and software or ability to be trained quickly.
  • Mastery of operational Teller aspects.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in accordance with branch needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a direct customer service capacity.
  • 1 year of prior cash handling experience, preferably in a retail banking environment or teller role.
  • Prior experience in a sales capacity, preferably in a retail banking environment.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate to exchange information with customers.
  • Ability to travel throughout the company footprint if required.
  • Ability to navigate throughout the branch to facilitate customer requests and meet operational standards.
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, and operationally essential equipment.
  • Ability to handle money and position self to transport coin bags and boxes.
