About the Role

This role is an opportunity to join a compassionate, ambitious and values-led team, helping people affected by non-opiate substance use to make informed decisions, improve their wellbeing and achieve lasting recovery outcomes. You'll play a vital role in creating safe spaces where people feel heard, supported and empowered to move forward.

Responsibilities

  • Help people affected by substances such as cocaine, cannabis, ketamine and other non-opiate drugs navigate their recovery journey with confidence.
  • Empower individuals to make informed choices, reduce harm and achieve sustainable change through meaningful conversations, evidence-based interventions and strengths-based support.
  • Support someone to take their first steps towards recovery.
  • Help an individual reconnect with education, employment or their wider community.
  • Develop expertise across assessment, recovery planning, harm reduction, partnership working and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting people facing complex challenges.
  • An understanding of recovery, behaviour change and harm reduction principles.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to engage and motivate people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, professional boundaries and risk management.
  • Effective organisational skills and confidence managing competing priorities.
  • A commitment to equality, inclusion and person-centred practice.
  • Belief in people and their ability to achieve meaningful and sustainable change.
  • Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
  • This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level.

Experience Level

  • Experience within substance use services, mental health, social care, criminal justice, housing or other community-based support environments is beneficial.

Salary/Compensations

  • CGL points 23 to 28 (£28,557.79 - £32,802.41) plus Outer London Weighting (£2,250.61)
