About the Role
Parkside, a DePaul Community Residence-Single Room Occupancy (CR-SRO) Program, is hiring a Community Living Staff 2 to assist residents with their service plan goals using a person-centered approach.
Responsibilities
- Provide teaching, monitoring, and recovery-oriented supports including Assertiveness/Self-Advocacy Training, Community Integration/Resource Development, Daily Living Skills, Health Services, Medication Management/Training, Parenting Training, Rehabilitative Counseling, Skill Development, Socialization, Substance Abuse Services, and Symptom Management.
- Assist the Medication Coordinator with supervising resident medications.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident medication records.
- Communicate resident mental and physical status to the Residential Services Coordinator or other relevant staff.
- Complete basic documentation in resident files regarding psychiatric, medical, or other significant concerns.
- Ensure daily tasks and assignments are completed as directed, including room preparation, resident orientation, and assisting with discharges/transfers.
- Complete rounds at least 4 times per shift during overnight shifts to monitor the program and intervene in potential problems.
- Work with Overnight security to ensure resident safety and well-being during overnight shifts.
- Share information with supervisors or administrative staff regarding shift concerns.
- Assist residents in maintaining the upkeep of their personal rooms.
- Coordinate and participate in resident recreational activities.
- Respect and maintain resident confidentiality and demonstrate a caring, positive attitude.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Act as a member of the residential team and provide input for treatment meetings and Continued Stay Reviews.
- Provide safe transporting of residents when needed.
- Perform other duties necessary for effective program operation.
Requirements
- Minimum High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to demonstrate verbal and written skills necessary for program success.
- At least one year of experience in a residential setting working with individuals in various stages of recovery from mental illness is preferred.
- Valid New York State driver's license meeting agency's clean driver record policy.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
