About the Role
The Assistant Server will support guest service delivery by preparing serving stations, assisting during meal service, and preparing for subsequent meal periods. This role is an integral part of the Lobby Lounge team.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a positive working relationship.
- Report for duty punctually, in full uniform according to appearance and grooming standards.
- Have a full understanding of the food and drink offerings, including dietary restrictions, and answer guest questions.
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of Lobby Lounge policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge and understanding of all steps of service and duties.
- Assist all Guests with any inquiries or requests in a pleasant, helpful manner.
- Attend pre-shift, weekly, and monthly meetings.
- Carry out miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as requested by your Manager.
- Understand how to operate all equipment used in the outlet.
- Fully understand and follow the hotel’s recycling program and procedures.
- Adhere to all Safe Standards, ensuring hygiene and prevention measures are met.
- Adhere to alcohol handling procedures and policies.
- Adhere to all LQA standards set for the department.
- Work weekends, holidays, and shift work as scheduled.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous work experience in a restaurant/food and beverage setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude.
- Flexibility with shifts dependent on business demands.
- Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas.
- Experience working in a Unionized Environment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
